SUNDAY
Yesterday I woke up and got ready for church, a knock on my door and both Jessica and Lindsey were there!!! Yay! I can't tell you how happy I was to see them- all of the crap that went on the night before felt erased. I had my friends here, I had the ones I trusted and loved so so very much at my door step.
We headed off to JourneyEcclesia which was great, once again- totally a spirit filled church. MellowMushroom for lunch, walked around downtown Franklin, sat on a bench and talked about life and relationships for a good 30 minutes at least. Once again, love those girls. What would I do without them?
We jumped in Jessicas' jeep, took the windows down and blasted the new Kings of Leon. Such a good album! Love love love Sex on Fire and Use Somebody.
We decided on buying a disposable camera because none of us had our digitals- best idea ever. What ever happened to plain old 35mm film? We drove to the Natchez Trace Bridge and took fun pictures, jumped, you know the usual. Drove down many more windy roads and ended up at a hiking trail- it was only a 1/2 mi. so we figured even though we were in flats and flip flops, we could conquer it.
Once we made it to the look out we sat in the woods on an old log and talked about what our lives are going to be like...how many kids....meeting men...you know the good stuff.
Decided we all wanted something to drink and went to Puckett's in Leiper's Fork- got ice cold root beers and birch beers and sat on the back porch for an hour. Talking, reminiscing, talking about needing a friend group reunion, trips to Asheville.
My heart was over joyed. Despite the crap and drama that went on the past few days, I was able to put it behind me. Stuff happens some you can control and some you can't. You must take your friends with you- you must carry them because they will love you for who you are.
And honestly, a simple prayer goes the longest way. I found myself just asking for a good day, for something happy to happen....and He provided. Being down in the dumps isn't worth my time. My friends are, music is, country roads and the best sundays are worth it.
