Meridee's and Fall

It is just past lunchtime on this oddly warm fall day in November and I lie here on my bed typing to no one.
My throat is seeming to not be so happy with me and must be protesting against feeling good. In a weird way I'm sort of glad that I'm not up to par in that it gives me a chance to rest. This morning I went to class, driving down all of the back roads lined with golden trees, the leaves were stuck to the wet pavement showing the most beautiful colors. I cannot express to you the joy I have during this season, fall means so much to me.
Currently we're working with charcoal which has never really been my forte, (Although maybe it's because I haven't delved into it as much as I have with other mediums) but I'm getting used to it. I walked into class this morning feeling so very tired and not ready for an hour and forty minutes of standing up smudging charcoal. Over all I think I'm getting the hang of it but hope to work on a couple of smaller pieces today to build up my abilities. Ugh that sounds....weird, "build my abilities"? None the less I need to become more aquainted with it so that my piece doesn't end up looking like I spent no time or effort on it.

After class I drove over to Meridee's for some coffee before I headed home. May I just say that I love Meridees? It is this quaint bakery/breakfast/lunch/coffee joint in downtown Franklin where the artsy musicians and housewives of Williamson County come to meet. Everytime I walk in there I feel like I'm surrounded by people who must make lots of money but hide it by their croissants and iced americano's.
There is this great retro style table by the window where it seems that CEO's and A&R guys meet. I kid you not, if ever you've been there I'm sure you know what I mean. With all of that said, I love Meridee's and downtown Franklin for those very reasons.
At this point I think I'll read my magazine and nap off my icky sickness.
