What a whirlwind week!
I wish that I had daily updated this blog as to not forget the fun things that happened but alas I'm writing now.

Saturday after work I drove to Memphis on what was a very nice trip, only 3 hours down I-40. Once I arrived in Midtown he showed me his little studio apartment, perfect for one person his building was built in the 1920's. True wooden doors with glass knobs, chutes for your trash, claw foot tub in the bathroom and even a hideaway kitchen table! We quickly got ready to meet all of his law school friends at a local bar-b-q joint just a block away. There I was in the midst of everyone who knew each other and younger yet they all welcomed me and made me feel so comfortable. At the table was AJ, Kevin, Paul, Katie, Zack and Poole ( I can't remember his first name!) Afterwards we went over to Katie and Paul's cute bungalow to sit on the porch and drink their homemade beer. Yes, they make their own beer! It's so cool, there' a thing closely resembling a deep freezer but really it's a kegerator. I only had a couple of sips, just not a beer drinker. Cool experience though, standing out there chilly laughing about what all they go through as law students and a teacher they call Tortman.
Sunday morning we slept in and eventually got ready- took a break to dance and listen to music- we went to breakfast at a go-to spot (the name escapes me) for omelets! yumm! He drove me around town showing me all that Memphis had to offer. Quite a clean city with kitschy boutiques and historic homes scattered about. At one point we went by the local art store and bought some supplies, he a pen and ink pot with some fixative for his charcoal and I some more drawing pens. So fun! I love how he's interested in the things that I love and is making an active effort in learning about them.
We were so blessed to be there on such a beautiful weekend, never colder than 60 degrees we drove with the windows down most of the time. Later that night we met up with Kevin for sushi at A-Tan. Killer sushi and service. I mean every 2 minutes they were asking if we needed refills or how we liked the sushi. Bueno bueno. Later we got some ben and jerry's and fell asleep to Horton Hears a Who. Okay I fell asleep to the movie- I'm such a lame-o!
Monday we went to the Civil Rights Museum to see where Martin Luther King was shot. The line to even get into the museum (also attached is the Lorraine Motel) was at least a block in length and about 4 people wide. It was crazy, everything was Obama-fied out! We were such the minority being a couple of white kids. People were screaming and singing, vendors were selling foot long corn dogs and choir music was blasted from the balcony outside of MLK's room. What an experience, I highly recommend visiting the museum, it opens your eyes up to how greatly the blacks were mistreated. It hurts to watch some of the footage taken from the 50's and 60's. And to think a little over 40 years later we've now sworn into office the very first black president. Crazy. After having stood in the line and walked through we were starving and stopped by Gus's fried chicken for just that. Not to mention some amazzzing sweet tea! We drove back home full as could be and I packed up my stuff to leave for Franklin.
Shortly after I left, around 15 minutes Adam was getting out of his car from showing me to the interstate and was attacked.
Out of respect for Adam and the situation as a whole I am going to keep all of the events that happened private. I'm more than willing to share with you on a personal level but at this point I don't feel it would be appropriate to voice this for everyone to see. As of now he's fine though soooo sooo sooo very much occured in the past few days. It's utterly despicable and selfish what those 3 men did. My heart hurt like never before hearing Adam on the phone moments after it happened. Please be in prayer over the situation. I think I may be visiting next weekend for a couple of days to help him with moving into his new apartment.
If you read the entire entry, thank you you're a trooper. Be blessed:)

Sounds like a dream...all the events that happened were like in a movie...so hip, urban, St.Elmos' Fire like(maybe you are a bit young to have seen that movie, nonetheless). I am sorry to hear about the attack on Adam. I do hope he is recovering and the "3" are being dealt with accordingly.Praise Jesus Adam is able to tell about it. My prayers are also with you as you are away from him this week:)
