I’m officially Jewish, but I’m Jewish in the way the Olive Garden is Italian.
I read a lot of blogs.
Typically I read at least a few a day, and one I frequent is relevantmagazine.com. I found it via my friend Jessica. (Thank you!)
As the page loads I see a picture of a man with an untamed beard and the headline is 'My Biblical Year'. I read on and am now sharing with you the lines I liked most.
"Be slow to anger. (Proverbs 19:11)
I knew I had to wrestle with my anger when I gave the finger to an ATM (in my defense, it did charge me a $2 fee)."
"Do not sacrifice your children to Molech. (Leviticus 20:5)
In fact, I didn’t sacrifice my children to any pagan god whatsoever.
"You shall not take on your wife’s sister as your second wife.
Well, it does help that my wife doesn’t have a sister. "
"I’ve rarely said the word Lord, unless it’s followed by of the Rings.”
He trawls for laughs as he puts tape over a Celestial Seasonings tea package so that he will not lust for the geisha pictured.
[taken from New York Post]...whether or not he trawled for laughs, I really did.
I would love to read the book he wrote about this particular year,The Year of Living Biblically.
