As I look out of my window all I see are the shapes of trees and rooftops in shades of gray. The mild weather we've had here in Nashville hasn't been my favorite- but as my mom has recently said, "Who are we to judge what God knows and wants?".
I so look forward to the cold weather, but...I'm just a girl who wraps herself in scarves and incessantly drinks grande wet cappuccinos.
A couple of days ago I met up with a good friend from school, which by the way I am not attending this semester, and we had coffee in the little starbucks a block from school. I arrived about 30 minutes early and read on the book I just got by Chuck Klosterman. In Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs he entertains me on every page- wittily mumbling on about his life as a Sim character whom he aptly named "SimChuck", how he has a Vendetta against John Cusack and essentially every Real World cast member from 1992 can be releated to a John Hughes film. I love the way he writes. About two months ago I bought 'Love in the Time of Cholera' with an intent to fall in love with his words yet found it hard to get into. (It now sits on my shelf for a later time.) I am awful when it comes to books and reading. I've mentioned it before in another blog but really, I'm not the best book worm. I will delve deeply with an addictive nature to the pages of a book that catch me- but I can't sit through a book that is uninteresting as I can't with a movie. You know how some people will stick with it in anticipation of what is about to come? Yeah, that's not me. It's kind of what it's like on iTunes. You can click on whatever song and listen to a 30 second sample inorder to see if it's what you want...and sadly sometimes 30 seconds is too long. If a song sucks and it's almost agony to listen to a 15 second preview, then release the tension and double click on another. :)
Oh gosh I got off track. Well, none the less momentarily I'll lie back on my bed and read what random yet oddly intelligent things Mr. Klosterman has to tell me.
Last night was one of my best friend's birthday party. All the girls eagerly decided on dressing up and going to a nice restaurant for dinner in Nashville. After much thought and really, well, utter indecision we agreed upon P.F. Chang's across from Centennial Park. (One of my favorite places that Nashville has to offer) Everyone looked great and it was such a sweet thing to see my friends dressed up for a good night out. Followed was a trip to cafe coco where we sat in the chilly weather scared the flock of birds in the tree over there would have a crap fest. They didn't.
Life is good right now. I'm scared but hopeful so...you know...all is well.
With that said, enjoy the rainy day my friend.
