No really, people with money are interesting. But in a good, "holy crap nuh-uh, that's so cool!" sort of way.
Thursday I overnight-sat for the aforementioned posts family. Two boys that couldn't be cuter or more polite with a house to envy.
As I was sautee-ing spinach in the kitchen (which turned out quite well, thank you very much) I decided to go downstairs to the basement to finally have a look at that door that had so intrigued me two nights before. Now you see this is not any regular door that's the cheap faux wood painted white, no no this door is old world like. Very heavy wood with black iron accents, and a smoldering window. Now do you see why I was so interested? I was kind of freaked out the first night I noticed it, but was determined to see what was hidden behind. Were I to be completely honest with you I would say that I hoped it was a massive workout room or some sort of deep dark top secret room, but I won't go there. Thus I walked down into the basement and slowly cracked the door sliding my left hand in along the wall to find a light switch. As I feel around the wall I get a little weirded out because I feel rough wood- even aloud I said "eww oh oh creepy". Yet as I found the light switch and flipped it on the room was illuminated to reaveal beautiful cobble stone floors, walls covered in wooden wine racks and an iron tasting table in the middle with four chairs surrounding.
These people have their very own wine cellar! No not a closet, a room, a cellar!.
I was in awe and thrilled- that was too cool.
Ever since I was young I've had a fascination with wine. And honestly, I don't know why seeing as I am still under 21. I grew up with my mom having a glass once in a while yet always seemed to believe that red wine tasted like grape juice. When I was a kid growing up in your typical Baptist church I would get excited for communion because it meant we got to hold the little plastic cups that held what looked like wine. Not to mention I would pour sprite or grape juice into my mom's wine glasses to look as though I was drinking the real deal. Kids are funny in that way, you know? Always trying to be much older than they are or should be. But anyway as of late I've become even more interested. I in no way have an experienced pallette but think that becoming a wine connesuer would be a fun task...or luxury really.
Although I've always become keen for Tuscany. I think my heart has a home there even though I have yet to go. I'm sure when I go there I'll feel like more of my life makes sense.
With that said, I'll be leaving you until my next post.
