Tomorrow after work I leave with Lindsey for une petite road trip to Asheville, NC.
I used to live about 45 min. away from there 7 years ago and loved it. There is a definite outdoorsy feel with some hippie and artsy mixed in. A couple of years ago, after I graduated I contemplated moving back for college in the mountains, but obviously God had other plans, and truthfully so did I.
The drive shouldn't be bad, only 6 hrs if we go the speed limit and maybe a little more if we stop for pictures and "dancing with one hand in the air". (Circa Elizabethtown) Oh and there's this really cute mountain town right before you cross into North Carolina. It's a big drop off for canoe-ing and random water sports...there's also a teeny log cabin coffee house. [yes please]
I'm thinking while we're there...do a little lake lure/chimney rock-age, some downtown Asheville w/ street cafes and art galleries (and Malaprops), and then wandering around town. Yeah? I'm pretty excited. I thought about visiting the Biltmore because it's spring and errrrrruh-thang is in bloom...but it's $50 to tour. (Idea nixxed)
I dig getting away, my head and heart need this.
